AN ACT concerning

Maryland Agricultural Fair Board - Terms of Office

FOR the purpose of altering the term of office for members of the
Maryland Agricultural Fair Board; providing that a member of
the Board may not serve more than a certain number of
consecutive terms; and making stylistic changes.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Section 10-301(c)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Agriculture

10-301.

(c) (1) The term of office of each member is [three] 5
years, but any member appointed to fill a vacancy in an unexpired
term serves for the remainder of the term.

(2)  Each member shall serve after expiration of [his]
THE MEMBER'S term until [his] A successor is appointed and
qualifies.

(3)  HOWEVER, A MEMBER MAY NOT SERVE MORE THAN 2
CONSECUTIVE 5-YEAR TERMS.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That current members
of the Maryland Agricultural Fair Board who have served 10 years
or more may not be eligible for reappointment.

SECTION 2 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1984.
