BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 41 - Governor - Executive and Administrative

Departments
Section 204E-2
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1982 Replacement Volume and 1983 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 41 - Governor - Executive and Administrative

Departments

204E-2.

(a)  There is a citizens' advisory committee for the
institutions of the Department located OR PLANNED FOR LOCATION
in:

(1)  Baltimore;

(2)  Hagerstown; [and]

(3)  Jessup; AND

(4)  SOMERSET COUNTY.

(b)  Each committee consists of 7 members appointed by the
Governor as required under subsections (c) and (d) of this
section.

(c)  (1) The Senator and each Delegate from the legislative
district in which the institutions are located shall each submit
a name to the Governor.

(2)  (I) [Each] EXCEPT IN SOMERSET COUNTY, EACH member
nominated by a   Senator or Delegate shall be a resident of this
State and of   the legislative district in which the institutions
are located.

(II) IN SOMERSET COUNTY, EACH MEMBER NOMINATED
BY A SENATOR OR DELEGATE SHALL BE A RESIDENT OF THIS STATE AND OF
SOMERSET COUNTY.

(3)  The Governor shall appoint each person nominated
by a Senator or Delegate for a vacancy on a committee within 60
days after receipt of the nominee's name.

(d)  (1) To the extent possible, the additional 3 members
shall be appointed to provide for legal, law enforcement, and
business representatives on each committee.
