SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article 56 - Licenses

A subdivision or municipality which issues a license for any
amusement device shall forward a copy to the [Admissions Tax
Division of the] State Comptroller's office within 10 days from
the date of issuance, and shall include therein the name and
address of the owner of the device, the location of the device
and name of the owner thereof, and a description of the device.
Article 64A - Merit System
7.
On and after July 1, 1949, the following positions shall be
included in the classified service of the State, and persons
holding said positions on July 1, 1949 who shall have held such
positions for at least six (6) months prior thereto shall be
considered a part of and shall hold their positions in the
classified service in accordance with this article and shall be
continued in said positions without examination: all employees
of the income tax division[, the admissions tax division] and the
alcoholic beverages division of the State Comptroller's office
and of the Maryland Veterans' Commission; and the principal
clerk, the senior stenographer, the typist, and the two clerks of
the State Board of Cosmetologists.
The rate of compensation for any person who has held his
position for a period of six (6) months or longer as of July 1,
1949, shall not be decreased as a result of being included in the
classified service.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1984.
