AN ACT concerning

State Board of Cosmetologists - Examination Fees

FOR the purpose of increasing the fee for certain cosmetology
license examinations.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 56 - Licenses

Section 500

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1979 Replacement Volume and 1983 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 56 - Licenses

500.

[All examination fees shall be five dollars ($5.00), and the
registration fees for the issuance of licenses, with or without
examination, shall be as follows:]

THE OPERATOR'S EXAMINATION FEE SHALL BE $5, AND ALL OTHER
EXAMINATION FEES SHALL BE $10. THE REGISTRATION FEES FOR THE
ISSUANCE OF LICENSES, WITH OR WITHOUT EXAMINATION, SHALL BE AS
FOLLOWS:

(a)  Twenty dollars ($20.00) for beauty shop owners,
managers and teachers, biennial renewal fee of $40.

(b)  Five dollars ($5.00) and biennial renewal fee of $10
for operators, manicurists, cosmeticians, wig stylists, and
demonstrators.

(c)  Two dollars ($2.00) for students and apprentices,
annual renewal fee of two dollars ($2.00).

(d)  One hundred dollars ($100.00) for schools of beauty
culture. Public and parochial schools, however, are hereby
declared to be exempted from the payment of any license fees, but
are subject to the other provisions of this subtitle. Biennial
renewal fees shall be $100.
