[(ii) Has at least 4 years of experience in
environmental sanitation that meets the standards set by the
Board, and in computing this experience, the Board may not give
more than 2 years credit for satisfactory graduate study in
environmental science;
(2) The applicant:
(i) Graduates from an accredited college or
university with a baccalaureate degree in a field other than
environmental science or the natural sciences; and
(ii) Has at least 8 years experience in
environmental sanitation that meets the standards set by the
Board; or]
[(3)] (2) The applicant has at least [12] 10 years of
experience in THE FIELD OF environmental [sanitation] HEALTH that
meets the standards set by the Board.
(c) Except as otherwise provided in this title, the
applicant shall pass an examination given by the Board under this
subtitle.

(a) To qualify for certification as a [sanitarian in
training] ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH PRACTITIONER, an applicant shall
be an individual who meets the requirements of this section.
(b) An applicant qualifies to take the examination required
by subsection (c) of this section if the applicant graduates from
an accredited college or university with:
(1) A baccalaureate degree in environmental science
or in the natural sciences;
(2) A baccalaureate degree that includes 30 semester
credit hours in natural sciences that meet the education
standards set by the Board; or
(3) A baccalaureate degree in a field other than
environmental science or the natural sciences and has at least 4
years experience in environmental sanitation.
(c) The applicant shall pass a written examination given by
the Board. The examination shall be in the basic sciences that
related to environmental health.
