May 29, 1984
The Honorable Benjamin L. Cardin
Speaker of the House of Delegates
State House
Annapolis, Maryland 21404

Dear Mr. Speaker:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland
Constitution, I have today vetoed House Bill 737.

This bill provides that the chairperson of the Student
Advisory Assembly to the State Board for Higher Education will
now be a nonvoting member of that Board.

Senate Bill 284, which was passed by the General Assembly
and signed by me on May 15, 1984, accomplishes the same purpose.
Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign House Bill 737.

Sincerely,
Harry Hughes
Governor

House Bill No. 737
