enrolled in the respective community college.

(4) FOR FISCAL YEAR 1985, AND EACH FISCAL YEAR
THEREAFTER, THE EMPLOYER SOCIAL SECURITY CONTRIBUTIONS FOR ANY
ELIGIBLE POSITION PAID BY THE STATE MAY NOT EXCEED 6.70 PERCENT
OF THAT PART OF THE SALARY PAID INCLUDED WITHIN THE SOCIAL
SECURITY WAGE BASE AS DEFINED IN FEDERAL LAW.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1984.

Dear Mr. Speaker:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland
Constitution, I have today vetoed House Bill 726.

This bill provides that a person may not establish, operate,
advertise, or promote a pyramid promotional scheme.

Senate Bill 7, which was passed by the General Assembly and
signed by me on May 29, 1984, accomplishes the same purpose.
Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign House Bill 726.
