May 29, 1984
The Honorable Melvin A. Steinberg
President of the Senate
State House
Annapolis, Maryland 21404

Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland
Constitution, I have today vetoed Senate Bill 350.

This bill establishes a program to provide family support
services for certain developmentally disabled children and their
families.

House Bill 441, which was passed by the General Assembly and
signed by me on May 29, 1984, accomplishes the same purpose.
Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate Bill 350.

Sincerely,
Harry Hughes
Governor

Senate Bill No. 350

AN ACT concerning

Family Support Services Program

FOR the purpose of establishing a program to provide family
support services for certain developmentally disabled
children and their families; defining certain terms;
requiring the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene to
establish and implement the program in a certain manner;
providing for a certain payment scale for reimbursement;
