this commission; and be it further
RESOLVED, That the copies of this Resolution be sent to the
Honorable Melvin A. Steinberg, President of the Senate of
Maryland; to the Honorable Benjamin L. Cardin, Speaker of the
House of Delegates; and to the Honorable Harry Hughes, Governor
of Maryland and Major General Warren P. Hodges, Adjutant General,
Fifth Regiment Armory, Baltimore, Maryland 21201.

A Senate Joint Resolution concerning
The Plan of Operation for the Maryland State
Agency for Surplus Property
FOR the purpose of citing legislative approval of the Plan of
Operation of the Maryland State Agency for Surplus Property.
WHEREAS, Section 203(j)(4)(A) of the Federal Property and
Administrative Services Act of 1949, as amended by Public Law
94-519, states that, before federally donated property may be
transferred to any state agency, the state shall develop,
according to state law, a detailed plan of operation developed in
conformity with the provisions of the federal statute.
The temporary Plan of Operation of the Maryland State Agency
for Surplus Property has been approved by the Governor.
The federal General Services Administration has accepted and
approved this Plan of Operation.
The Maryland State Agency for Surplus Property has been
designated by the Governor as the official State agency
responsible for administering the federal surplus property
program in Maryland; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, That the
General Assembly approves the Plan of Operation of the Maryland
State Agency for Surplus Property as the State's permanent plan
for the administration of federal surplus property.
