HARRY HUGHES, Governor                                         3813

WHEREAS, The National Institute of Justice has stated that
the State of Maryland could receive a grant to participate in
this study; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, That the
Governor is urged to request the National Institute of Justice to
include the State of Maryland as a participant in the Police
Corps Scholarship Program feasibility study; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Governor request a grant for conducting
the study in the State of Maryland; and be it further

RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution be sent to the
Honorable Harry Hughes, Governor of Maryland; and be it further

RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution be sent to: the
Honorable Nathaniel E. Kossack J. Joseph Curran, Chairperson and
the Honorable Richard W. Friedman, Executive Director, The
Maryland Criminal Justice Coordinating Council, One Investment
Place, Suite 700, Towson, Maryland 21204; and be it further
Colonel Wilbert T. Travers, Jr., Superintendent, Maryland State
Police, 1200 Reisterstown Road, Pikesville, Maryland 21208;
Chief Donald R. Leslie, President, Maryland Chiefs of Police
Association, P.O. Box 24063, Baltimore, Maryland 21227; and
Captain Juergen P. Ervin, Chairman, Public Safety Department,
Maryland Municipal League, Laurel Police Department, 350
Municipal Square, Laurel, Maryland 20707.

RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution be forwarded to the
Honorable Harry Hughes, Governor of Maryland, the Honorable
Benjamin L. Cardin, Speaker of the House of Delegates, and the
Honorable Melvin A. Steinberg, President of the Senate of
Maryland.

Fair Trade Steel Act

FOR the purpose of urging the United States Congress to pass
certain legislation to limit imports of foreign steel
imports to a certain percentage of American steel
consumption for a certain period through enactment of
legislation before the House of Representatives; and
generally relating to the Fair Trade Steel Act.
