AN ACT concerning
Chesapeake Bay Sport Fishing License
FOR the purpose of providing that, except for certain persons, a
person may not fish for finfish in the tidal waters of the
Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries without first obtaining
an annual Chesapeake Bay sport fishing license; providing
for a certain license year; providing for certain fees and
manner of distribution of the license; providing for a
onetime issuance of an 18-month license in lieu of an annual
license; providing for a special charterboat license;
providing that, except for a certain amount, revenue derived
from the sale of these licenses shall be used for certain
purposes after consultation with certain persons; providing
a delayed effective date for this Act; authorizing the
Department of Natural Resources to issue to certain persons
pursuant to regulations certain special Chesapeake Bay sport
fishing licenses; providing for an exemption for persons
holding a license issued by Virginia under certain
circumstances; and generally relating to establishment of a
Chesapeake Bay sport fishing license.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

4-745.
(A) (1) EXCEPT AS PROVIDED IN SUBSECTIONS (C) AND (D) OF
THIS SECTION, A PERSON MAY NOT FISH FOR FINFISH IN THE CHESAPEAKE
BAY OR IN ITS TRIBUTARIES UP TO TIDAL BOUNDARIES WITHOUT FIRST
OBTAINING A CHESAPEAKE BAY SPORT FISHING LICENSE.
(2) THE LICENSE MAY BE OBTAINED FROM THE DEPARTMENT,
CLERK OF THE CIRCUIT COURT OF EACH COUNTY, OR FROM ANY AUTHORIZED
AGENT OF THE DEPARTMENT. THE ANNUAL FEE FOR THE LICENSE IS $5.
(3) EXCEPT FOR A LICENSE ISSUED PURSUANT TO
SUBSECTION (D), EVERY CHESAPEAKE BAY SPORT FISHING LICENSE SHALL
BE VALID FOR NOT MORE THAN 1 YEAR AND SHALL EXPIRE ON DECEMBER
31.
