(5) AT THE DISCRETION OF THE SECRETARY, THE AUTHORITY
TO CONDUCT A PRELIMINARY HEARING MAY BE DELEGATED TO ANOTHER
MEMBER OR BOARD OF THE DEPARTMENT OF PERSONNEL.

(6)  AFTER THE PRELIMINARY HEARING IS COMPLETED, THE
SECRETARY SHALL RENDER A DECISION, IN WRITING, WITHIN 5 WORKING
DAYS. THIS DECISION SHALL BE CONCLUSIVE AS TO THE ISSUE OF
SUSPENSION ONLY.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1984.

AN ACT concerning

Higher Education - Tuition Reimbursement
for Retraining Teachers

FOR the purpose of establishing a program of tuition
reimbursement for teachers retraining in certain subject
areas of critical need in this State; providing for
conditions and time of reimbursement; establishing certain
criteria for eligibility for the program; requiring a
certain bond; providing for the implementation of this Act;
providing for funding of this program; and and the use of
the funds for this program; generally relating to a program
of tuition reimbursement; and providing that this Act and
certain regulations terminate after a certain period of
time.

Section 18-1401 to be under the new subtitle "Subtitle
14. Tuition Reimbursement for Retraining Teachers"
