(D) BEFORE THE COMMISSION MAY IMPLEMENT THE SYSTEM, THE
GENERAL ASSEMBLY MUST APPROVE BY JOINT RESOLUTION THE PLAN FOR
TELEPHONE BETTING.

(C) (1) COMPUTATION OF THE TOTAL TAKEOUT AND BREAKAGE FOR
WAGERING MADE UNDER THIS SECTION SHALL BE THE SAME AS THAT
NORMALLY APPLICABLE TO RACING CONDUCTED BY THE LICENSEE.

(2) AFTER DEDUCTING FROM THE TAKEOUT THE STATE TAX,
THE REMAINDER SHALL BE ALLOCATED 50% TO THE LICENSEE AND 50% TO
PURSES. THE PENSION FUND ALLOCATION SHALL BE DEDUCTED FROM THE
SHARE OF THE LICENSEE, AND THE BRED FUND ALLOCATION SHALL BE
DEDUCTED FROM THE SHARE FOR PURSES.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the Racing

Commission shall present a report to the Legislative Policy

Committee within 30 days of implementing the telephone betting

system detailing the procedures for the operation and oversight

of the system.

SECTION 2 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect January 1, 1985.

(House Bill 15)

AN ACT concerning

Video Movie Sales and Rentals - Ratings

FOR the purpose of requiring certain ratings to be displayed on
the outside of a cassette, case, jacket, or other covering
of certain video movies; providing a penalty for violations;
and generally relating to video movie rentals and sales.

BY adding to

Article - Commercial Law
Section 14-1401 through 14-1403 to be under the new subtitle
"Subtitle 14. Video Movie Sales and Rentals"
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1983 Replacement Volume)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
