SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act may not
take effect until after June 1, 1984 and until a similar Act is
passed by the signatory parties to the Susquehanna River Basin
Compact; that the federal government, the State of New York and
the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania are requested to concur in this
Act of the General Assembly of Maryland by the passage of a
similar Act; and that upon that event the Governor of the State
of Maryland shall issue a proclamation declaring this Act valid
and effective.

AN ACT concerning

Well Drillers - Continuing Education

FOR the purpose of eliminating the requiring continuing education
requirements of certain applicants for renewal of certain
well drilling licenses by a certain date; providing for a
certain effective date; and generally relating to the
elimination of continuing education requirements for well
driller licensees.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Health Occupations

21-308.

(a)  A license expires on the June 30 after its effective
date unless the license is renewed for a 1-year term as provided
in this section.

(b)  At least 1 month before the license expires, the Board
shall send to the licensee, by first class mail to the last known
address of the licensee, a renewal notice that states:

(1) The date on which the current license expires;
