AN ACT concerning

Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners -
Veterinary Technician Registration

FOR the purpose of providing for the registration of veterinary
technicians by the Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners;
defining a term; creating a veterinary technician committee
under the Board's jurisdiction and subject to its direction;
setting the term, membership, duties, and responsibilities
of the veterinary technician committee; establishing grounds
for taking disciplinary action by the Board against a
veterinary technician; providing that certain persons
automatically qualify to be registered by the Board as
veterinary technicians for a certain time; and generally
relating to the registration and regulation of veterinary
technicians.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Agriculture

2-301.

(a)  In this subtitle, the following words have the meanings
indicated.

(b)  "Board" means the State Board of Veterinary Medical
Examiners.

(c)  "Direct supervision" means that a veterinarian licensed
and registered in the State is in the immediate vicinity where
veterinary medicine is being performed and is actively engaged in
the supervision of the practice of veterinary medicine.
