AN ACT concerning

Property Tax - Constant Yield Tax Rate - Compliance

FOR the purpose of providing that certain taxing authorities may
not increase the tax rate above the constant yield tax rate
unless the taxing authority provides a certain evidence to
the Department of Assessments and Taxation of advertisement
of intention to impose an increased tax rate to, or provides
certain evidence to the Department of the mailing of certain
notices; providing that a municipal corporation's
advertisement may not be less than a certain size; providing
that a taxing authority in certain circumstances is deemed
to have complied with certain requirements related to the
constant yield tax rate; requiring taxing authorities not
exceeding the constant yield tax rate to notify the
Department; providing that the Director of the Department
shall report to the Attorney General any taxing authority
that fails to comply with the requirements for the increase
of the constant yield tax rate; requiring the Attorney
General to investigate and institute appropriate legal
action to effect compliance with the terms of this Act; and
generally relating to the constant yield tax rate.
