FOR the purpose of altering the definition of "motorcycle" by
removing the criteria relating to brake horsepower and
piston displacement; and providing that a motorcycle is
defined as a motor vehicle that is self-propelled by a
motor; prohibiting a person from operating certain
motorcycles on certain roads; requiring certain motorcycle
dealers to inform a buyer of certain motorcycles about the
provisions of this Act; repealing a certain section; and
allowing the Motor Vehicle Administration to provide certain
warnings under this Act.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

11-136.
(a) "Motorcycle" means a motor vehicle that:
(1) Has two wheels;
(2) [Has] IS SELF-PROPELLED BY a motor with a rating
of more than 1.5 brake horsepower and a capacity of more than 50
AT LEAST 49 cubic centimeters piston displacement] IS
SELF-PROPELLED BY A MOTOR;
(3) Has a singular front steering road wheel mounted
in a fork assembly that passes through a frame steering bearing
and to which is attached a handlebar or other directly operated
steering device;
