OFFICE OF THE SECRETARY

For the purpose of placing a ceiling on
the total number of employees at
any one time in fiscal year 1985,
the Department of Public Safety and
Correctional Services shall not
expend funds for any job or
position of employment approved in
this budget in excess of 7,796
positions. The Secretary of the
Department of Public Safety and
Correctional Services shall utilize
his prerogative under Sections 204
through 204C of Article 41 to
implement this provision, provided,
however, that any authorized job or
position to be filled above the
7,796 ceiling is approved by the
Board of Public Works and counted
against the Rule of 75 imposed by
the General Assembly. The
