and the other who shall be a representative of a harness track
licensee. One member each shall be nominated by the Maryland
Breeders Association, Inc., the Maryland Harness Horsemen's
Association, Inc., and the Cloverleaf Standardbred Owners
Association, Inc. Each of these members shall be selected by a
majority vote of the members of the respective associations. The
other member of the [Harness Racing Board] COMMISSION nominated
by the chairman of [that Board] THE COMMISSION shall serve as
chairman of the committee. If any of the members other than the
two members nominated by the chairman of the [Harness Racing
Board] COMMISSION have not been nominated by June 1 of any year,
the Commission, with the approval of the Secretary of Licensing
and Regulation, shall make these nominations. Each member of the
Committee shall be a resident of the State. The term of office
for each Committee member will be one year and no member, with
the exception of the chairman, may serve more than two
consecutive complete terms. The Committee shall assist and
advise the Commission in administering the Maryland Standardbred
Race Program and Standardbred Sires Stakes Program as part of the
Maryland Standardbred Race Fund. The members of the Committee
shall receive no compensation for their services as members, but
shall be reimbursed for expenses incurred while engaged in the
performance of their duties, in accordance with the Standard
Travel Regulations.

(b) Racing may be conducted on any Sunday, with the
approval of the [appropriate board] COMMISSION, at any tracks
licensed under the provisions of § 17 of this article or at any
track that is located in Anne Arundel County that is licensed
under the provisions of § 7 of this article.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1984.
