AN ACT concerning

Worcester County - Prisoners - Collections

FOR the purpose of requiring the payment of certain costs by
certain prisoners in the Worcester County jail; requiring
the Worcester County Commissioners to establish certain
rates and designate a certain agent; and generally relating
to the collection of costs from certain prisoners in the
Worcester County jail.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 27 - Crimes and Punishments

645AA.

(A)  PRISONERS INCARCERATED IN THE WORCESTER COUNTY JAIL WHO
ARE EMPLOYED UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF § 645K OF THIS ARTICLE SHALL
BE REQUIRED TO PAY THE COST OF THEIR OWN FOOD, LODGING, AND
CLOTHING WHILE IN THE JAIL.

(B)  THE WORCESTER COUNTY COMMISSIONERS SHALL:

(1)  ESTABLISH THE PER DIEM RATE FOR FOOD, LODGING,
AND CLOTHING; AND

(2)  DESIGNATE AN AGENT TO COLLECT THESE COSTS.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1984.
