SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 41 - Governor - Executive and Administrative

SPECIAL ADVISORY COMMISSION ON PROFESSIONAL
SPORTS AND THE ECONOMY

551.

IN THIS SUBTITLE, "COMMISSION" MEANS THE SPECIAL ADVISORY
COMMISSION ON PROFESSIONAL SPORTS AND THE ECONOMY.

552.

THERE IS A SPECIAL ADVISORY COMMISSION ON PROFESSIONAL
SPORTS AND THE ECONOMY.

553.

(A) (1) THE COMMISSION CONSISTS OF 13 MEMBERS APPOINTED BY
THE GOVERNOR.

(2) OF THE 13 COMMISSION MEMBERS:

(I)  3 SHALL BE REPRESENTATIVES OF PROFESSIONAL
SPORTS IN THE STATE;

(II)  3 SHALL BE REPRESENTATIVES OF STATE AND
LOCAL GOVERNMENT;

(III)  3 SHALL BE REPRESENTATIVES OF THE GENERAL
PUBLIC;

(IV)  2 SHALL BE MEMBERS OF THE HOUSE OF
DELEGATES, SELECTED BY THE SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE; AND

(V)  2 SHALL BE MEMBERS OF THE SENATE OF
MARYLAND, SELECTED BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE SENATE.

(B)  (1) THE TERM OF A MEMBER IS 3 YEARS.

(2)  THE TERMS OF THE MEMBERS ARE STAGGERED AS
REQUIRED BY THE TERMS OF THE MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION ON JULY 1,
1985.

(3)  AT THE END OF A TERM, A MEMBER CONTINUES TO SERVE
UNTIL A SUCCESSOR IS APPOINTED AND QUALIFIES.

(4)  A MEMBER WHO IS APPOINTED AFTER A TERM HAS BEGUN
SERVES ONLY FOR THE REST OF THE TERM AND UNTIL A SUCCESSOR IS
APPOINTED AND QUALIFIES.
