AN ACT concerning
Registration Plates - Certification by Maryland
State Firemen's Association
FOR the purpose of providing that applicants for renewal of
certain special registration plates for members of a
volunteer fire department, volunteer rescue squad, or
volunteer ambulance company are not required to submit
certain proof from the Maryland State Firemen's Association
with a certain renewal application; and generally relating
to repealing the requirement that applicants for renewal of
certain special registration plates submit certain proof
from the Maryland State Firemen's Association of the
applicant's membership in a volunteer fire department,
volunteer rescue squad, or volunteer ambulance company.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

13-615.
(b) (1) Special registration may be issued and continued
under this section only if the applicant submits, with the
original [and each renewal] application, proof by the Maryland
State Firemen's Association that the applicant is a member of a
volunteer fire department, volunteer rescue squad, or volunteer
ambulance company in this State.
(2) AN APPLICANT FOR RENEWAL OF SPECIAL REGISTRATION
ISSUED UNDER THIS SECTION IS NOT REQUIRED TO SUBMIT PROOF OF
MEMBERSHIP IN A VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT, VOLUNTEER RESCUE
SQUAD, OR VOLUNTEER AMBULANCE COMPANY IN THIS STATE.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1984.
