for Employees of the State of Maryland, shall, as a condition of
that person's employment contract, be entitled to remain a member
of the retirement system without change in the benefits provided
in the retirement system as of December 31, 1979.

(B) Any person receiving benefits under the
provisions of this subtitle on December 31, 1979 shall continue
to receive the benefits as provided in the retirement system as
of December 31, 1979. These benefits shall include but not be
limited to:

[(a)] (I) The eligibility for service
retirement upon completion of 30 years service or attainment of
age 60;

[(b)] (II) The eligibility for a reduced
service retirement upon completion of a certain length of
service;

[(c)] (III) The service retirement allowance of
one fifty-fifth of average final compensation;

[(d)](IV) The retirement allowances provided
for ordinary or accidental disability;

[(e)] (V) The selection of options for service
or disability allowances;

[(f)] (VI) The adjustment of the retirement
allowance for increases in the Consumer Price Index;

[(g)] (VII) The death benefit;

[(h)] (VIII) The level of contributions from
members; and

[(i)] (IX) The length of service for members to
vest benefits in the system.

(C) A MEMBER WHO IS SUBJECT TO EITHER OF §§ 11B, 11C, OR
11D OF THIS ARTICLE WHO RECEIVES CREDITABLE SERVICE FROM JULY 1,
1984 IS SUBJECT ONLY TO THE PROVISIONS OF THE APPLICABLE SECTION
FOR THE PROPORTION OF EARNABLE COMPENSATION THAT IS PAYABLE, THE
COMPUTATION OF THE RETIREMENT ALLOWANCE, AND THE ADJUSTMENT OF
THE RETIREMENT ALLOWANCE.

11B.

(1) A MEMBER WHO IS IN SERVICE ON JULY 1, 1984, IS SUBJECT
TO THE PROVISIONS OF THIS SECTION. A MEMBER WHO IS NOT IN ACTIVE
SERVICE ON JULY 1, 1984 BUT WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO RETURN TO ACTIVE
SERVICE IS SUBJECT TO THIS SECTION ON THE DATE OF RETURN TO
SERVICE.

(2) FROM JULY 1, 1984, A MEMBER SHALL RECEIVE A RETIREMENT
ALLOWANCE AS PROVIDED IN THIS SUBSECTION:
