10-310. JURISDICTION.

JURISDICTION OF ALL CIVIL ENFORCEMENT PROCEEDINGS UNDER THIS
SUBTITLE IS VESTED IN THE CIRCUIT COURT FOR ANY COUNTY AND
JUVENILE COURTS HAVING JURISDICTION OVER THE ENFORCEMENT OF LAWS
RESPECTING DUTIES OF SUPPORT.

89C, § 10.

"Law" § 10-301 "Support" § 1-101

10-311. CONTENTS OF PETITION FOR SUPPORT.

THE PETITION SHALL BE VERIFIED AND SHALL STATE THE NAME AND,
SO FAR AS KNOWN TO THE OBLIGEE, THE ADDRESS AND CIRCUMSTANCES OF
THE OBLIGOR AND THE PERSONS FOR WHOM SUPPORT IS SOUGHT AND ALL
OTHER PERTINENT INFORMATION. THE OBLIGEE MAY INCLUDE IN OR
ATTACH TO THE PETITION ANY INFORMATION THAT MAY HELP IN LOCATING
OR IDENTIFYING THE OBLIGOR INCLUDING A PHOTOGRAPH OF THE OBLIGOR,
A DESCRIPTION OF ANY DISTINGUISHING MARKS OF THE OBLIGOR, OTHER
NAMES AND ALIASES BY WHICH THE OBLIGOR HAS BEEN OR IS KNOWN, THE
NAME OF THE OBLIGOR'S EMPLOYER, THE OBLIGOR'S FINGERPRINTS, OR
THE OBLIGOR'S SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section formerly appeared as Article
89C, § 11.

The words "the persons", "the obligor", and "the
obligor's" are substituted for the former words "his
or her dependents", "he", and "his" in light of
Article 40, § 53C of the Code, which calls for "the
use of words that are neutral as to gender".

The only other changes are in style.

"Support" § 1-101

10-312. PETITION BY LEGAL CUSTODIAN OF MINOR OBLIGEE.

A PETITION ON BEHALF OF A MINOR OBLIGEE MAY BE BROUGHT BY A
PERSON HAVING LEGAL CUSTODY OF THE MINOR WITHOUT APPOINTMENT AS
GUARDIAN AD LITEM.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section formerly appeared as Article
89C, § 13.

The reference to "minor" is substituted for the former
reference to "person under eighteen years of age", for
clarity and internal consistency.
