Maryland Uniform Reciprocal Enforcement of Support
Act. Subsection (b)(2) of this section appears to be
unnecessary in light of subsection (a)(4) of this
section.

5-1036. COSTS.

(A)   IN GENERAL.

EXCEPT AS OTHERWISE PROVIDED IN THIS SECTION, THE COURT MAY
AWARD COSTS UNDER THIS SUBTITLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH MARYLAND RULE
604.

(B)  PAYMENT BY COUNTY.

THE COURT MAY ORDER ALL OR PART OF THE COSTS TO BE PAID BY
THE COUNTY WHERE THE PROCEEDING IS INSTITUTED.

(C)  PAYMENT BY ANY PARTY.

THE COURT MAY ORDER ANY PARTY TO PAY THE COSTS OF THE
PROCEEDING.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from the third sentence of
former Article 16, § 66H(a)(3) and the last phrase of
(c).

In subsection (a) of this section, the former phrase
"as in other civil cases" is deleted as unnecessary in
light of the reference to Maryland Rule 604.

THE COURT MAY NOT ENTER AN ORDER UNDER THIS SUBTITLE AGAINST
A PARTY UNLESS THE PARTY IS GIVEN REASONABLE NOTICE AND AN
OPPORTUNITY TO BE HEARD.

66H(e).

The former express requirement that, before an order
may be entered against a person, "the person is or
shall have been made a party to the proceedings" is
