Ch. 296

(2) PASS ANY ORDER THAT IS JUST AND PROPER.

(B)  SAME — ORDER BINDING.

AN ORDER PASSED UNDER SUBSECTION (A) OF THIS SECTION SHALL
BE BINDING ON AND ENFORCEABLE AGAINST THE DEFENDANT AS IF THE
DEFENDANT WERE PRESENT AT THE HEARING.

(C)  FORFEITURE OF BOND.

IF A DEFENDANT FAILS TO APPEAR AFTER BEING SUMMONED OR AFTER
GIVING BOND AS REQUIRED BY § 5-1014 OF THIS SUBTITLE, BOND SHALL
BE FORFEITED AND APPLIED TO THE PAYMENT OF ANY OBLIGATION IMPOSED
BY AN ORDER PASSED IN THE PROCEEDING.

(D)  DISPOSITION OF DEFENDANT.

IF A DEFENDANT FAILS TO APPEAR AFTER BEING PROPERLY SUMMONED

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from former Article 16, §
66E(e).

In subsection (a) of this section, the former phrase
"or defendants or any of them" is deleted as
repetitious of the word "defendant".

In subsection (c) of this section, "bond" is
substituted for the former phrase "the security posted
by such defendant", for brevity.

Also in subsection (c) of this section, "obligation
imposed by an order" is substituted for the "former
word "order", for clarity.

Defined term: "Complaint" § 5-1001
