ON REQUEST BY THE LOCAL DEPARTMENT, THE LOCAL STATE'S
ATTORNEY SHALL ASSIST IN THE INVESTIGATION.

(D)  TIME FOR COMPLETING INVESTIGATION.

AN INVESTIGATION UNDER THIS SECTION SHALL BE COMPLETED
WITHIN 10 DAYS AFTER RECEIPT OF THE FIRST NOTICE OF THE SUSPECTED
ABUSE BY THE LOCAL DEPARTMENT.

(E)  WRITTEN REPORT OF FINDINGS.

WITHIN 5 BUSINESS DAYS AFTER COMPLETION OF      THE

INVESTIGATION, THE LOCAL DEPARTMENT, AND THE APPROPRIATE    LAW

ENFORCEMENT AGENCY, IF THAT AGENCY PARTICIPATED IN    THE

INVESTIGATION, SHALL MAKE A COMPLETE WRITTEN REPORT OF     ITS
FINDINGS TO THE LOCAL STATE'S ATTORNEY.

(F)  EXPUNGEMENT.

THE LOCAL DEPARTMENT SHALL EXPUNGE A REPORT OF SUSPECTED
ABUSE 5 YEARS AFTER THE DATE OF THE REPORT IF:

(1)  AN INVESTIGATION UNDER THIS SECTION CONCLUDES
THAT ABUSE IS RULED OUT; AND

(2)  NO FURTHER REPORTS INVOLVING THE PARTIES ARE
RECEIVED DURING THE 5 YEARS.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from former Article 27, §
35A(f).

In subsection (a) of this section, "suspected abuse"
is substituted for the former language "probable
violation", for clarity and consistency with the other
provisions of this section.

In the introductory language of subsection (b)(2) of
this section, "if ... verified" is substituted for
the former language "upon validation", for clarity.

Also in subsection (f)(2) of this section, "during the
5 years" is new language added for clarity.
