(D)  HEALTH PRACTITIONER.

"HEALTH PRACTITIONER" INCLUDES ANY PERSON WHO IS AUTHORIZED
TO PRACTICE HEALING UNDER THE HEALTH OCCUPATIONS ARTICLE.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language derived
without substantive change from former Article 72A, §
4(e).

The former references to specific health care
professionals are deleted as unnecessary in light of
the inclusive definition of "health practitioner" and
in light of the provisions of the Health Occupations
Article.

(E)  LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY.

"LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY" INCLUDES:

(1)  A STATE, COUNTY, OR MUNICIPAL POLICE DEPARTMENT
OR AGENCY;

(2)  A SHERIFF'S OFFICE;

(3)  A STATE'S ATTORNEY'S OFFICE; AND

(4)  THE ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE.

(F)  LOCAL DEPARTMENT.

"LOCAL DEPARTMENT" MEANS THE DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES
THAT HAS JURISDICTION IN THE COUNTY:

(1)  WHERE A NEGLECTED CHILD LIVES; OR

(2)  IF DIFFERENT, WHERE THE NEGLECT IS ALLEGED TO
HAVE TAKEN PLACE.
