4-510. VIOLATIONS OF ORDERS.
A PERSON WHO VIOLATES AN ORDER TO VACATE THE FAMILY HOME
UNDER THIS SUBTITLE IS GUILTY OF A MISDEMEANOR AND ON CONVICTION
IS SUBJECT TO A FINE NOT EXCEEDING $500 OR IMPRISONMENT NOT
EXCEEDING 60 DAYS OR BOTH.

PART III. BATTERED SPOUSES.
INTRODUCTORY REVISOR'S NOTE TO PART:
The precursor to this Part III of this subtitle, former
Article 88A, §§ 101 - 104, enacted by Chapter 731, Acts of 1977,
provided that:
"[this Act] shall remain effective for a period of
five years and, at the end of June 30, 1982, and with
no further action required by the General Assembly,
this Act shall be abrogated and of no further force
and effect."
The entire act (former Article 88A, §§ 101 - 105) was repealed or
repealed and reenacted between 1979 and 1982. Chapter 500, Acts
of 1979 repealed and reenacted §§ 102 and 103; Chapter 799, Acts
of 1980 again repealed and reenacted § 103; Chapter 325, Acts of
1981 repealed and reenacted §§ 101, 103, and 104 and § 105 (which
had provided that "[t]he Secretary shall evaluate the need for
additional shelter homes in other areas of the State, and shall
report his findings to the General Assembly by January 1, 1979
...); and Chapter 911, Acts of 1982, repealed and reenacted §
103(d).
Arguably, this entire Act was repealed on June 30, 1982.
However, it is more likely that the reenactment in 1979, 1980,
1981, and 1982 of the provisions of the Act by Chapters 500, 799,
325, and 911, respectively, removed the effect of the sunset
provision because the language of Chapter 731 referred only to
