(D) PERSON.

"PERSON" MEANS AN INDIVIDUAL, RECEIVER, TRUSTEE, GUARDIAN,
PERSONAL REPRESENTATIVE, FIDUCIARY, OR REPRESENTATIVE OF ANY KIND
AND ANY PARTNERSHIP, FIRM, ASSOCIATION, CORPORATION, OR OTHER
ENTITY.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language added to
set forth a broad definition of the word "person" as
used in this article.

As to the term "personal representative", see Article 1,
§ 5 of the Code.

(E)  STATE.

"STATE" MEANS, EXCEPT IN TITLE 10, SUBTITLE 3 OF THIS
ARTICLE:

STATES;

(1)  A STATE, POSSESSION, OR TERRITORY OF THE UNITED

(2)  THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA; OR

(3)  THE COMMONWEALTH OF PUERTO RICO.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language added to
avoid repetition of phrases such as "state,
possession, territory, the District of Columbia, or
the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico".

(E) (F) SUMMONS.

"SUMMONS" INCLUDES A SUBPOENA.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language patterned
after the last sentence of Maryland Rule 5 ee.

Throughout this article, as in the Maryland Rules of
Procedure, the defined term "summons" appears wherever
a reference to summons, subpoena, or both is intended.

(F) (G) SUPPORT.

"SUPPORT" INCLUDES MAINTENANCE.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is  new language added to

permit a reference throughout this article to

"support" rather than to, e.g., "support and
maintenance".
