SECTION 5. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the continuity
of every department, board, commission, committee, agency, or
other unit affected by this Act is retained. The personnel,
records, files, furniture, fixtures, and other properties and all
appropriations, credits, assets, liabilities, and obligations of
each retained unit are continued as the personnel, records,
files, furniture, fixtures, properties, appropriations, credits,
assets, liabilities, and obligations of the unit under the laws
enacted by this Act.
SECTION 6. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That except as
expressly provided to the contrary in this Act, any person
licensed, registered, or certified by any board established or
continued by any statute amended, repealed, or transferred by
this Act is considered for all purposes to be licensed,
registered, or certified by the appropriate board continued under
this Act for the duration of the term for which the license,
registration, or certification was issued, and may renew that
authorization in accordance with the appropriate renewal
provisions of this Act. Except as expressly provided to the
contrary in this Act, a person who was originally licensed,
registered, or certified under a provision of law that has been
deleted by this Act as obsolete continues to meet the
requirements to the same extent as if that provision had not been
deleted.
SECTION 7. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the 1984 Edition
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Washington County being
Article 22 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland,
published under the direction of the Board of County
Commissioners of Washington County, is legalized. The Code shall
contain all public local laws relating to Washington County
following the 1984 regular session of the General Assembly of
Maryland. The Code shall be deemed and taken in all the courts
of the State, and by all public officials of the State and of its
several political subdivisions, to be evidence of the public
local laws of Washington County in effect at the time of
compilation.
SECTION 8. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1984.
