40-1. Payment for witnesses.

The county commissioners shall [levy a sufficient sum, in
advance, to] pay State's witnesses in [said] THE county promptly
at the close of each term of the circuit court. (P.L.L., 1860,
Art. 21, sec. 335; 1888, Art. 22, Sec. 424; 1930, sec. 865; 1957
Code, sec. 830.)

40-2. Orders for payment.

Whenever any person [shall present] PRESENTS to the
collector of [said] THE county[,] an order from the clerk of the
circuit court for [his] THE PERSON'S attendance as a witness,
[he] THE CLERK shall pay to [such] THE person, or [his] TO THE
PERSON'S order, the amount due [him] THE PERSON, after deducting
[therefrom] all charges [he] THE CLERK may have against [such]
THE witness. (P.L.L., 1860, Art. 21, sec. 336; 1888, Art. 22,
sec. 425; 1930, sec. 867; 1957 Code, sec. 831.)

40-3. Repealed by Ch. 162, Acts of 1973.

41. Washington County Museum of Fine Arts

41-1.

(a)   In this [chapter] SUBTITLE, the following words have
the meanings indicated.

(b)   "Board" means the Board of Trustees of the Washington
County Museum of Fine Arts.

(c)   "Museum" means the Washington County Museum of Fine
Arts.

41-2.

(a)  There is a Board of Trustees of the Washington County
Museum of Fine Arts.

(b)  The Board consists of 18 trustees as follows:

(1)   15 trustees appointed by the Board;

(2)  As an ex officio member, the president of the
Board of County Commissioners [of Washington County] or a county
commissioner designated by the president;

(3)  As an ex officio member, the superintendent of
schools of Washington County; and

(4)  As an ex officio member, the Mayor of the City of
Hagerstown or a city council member designated by the Mayor.

(c)  (1) Each trustee serves for a term of 5 years.
