with said incumbent Collector so appointed, continuing the
present bonds so as to cover all the duties and responsibilities
of County Treasurer as herein provided for the term of such

sec. 803.)

36-2. Same; election, tenure.

(A)   [On the Tuesday after the first Monday in November, in
the year 1942, and on the same day every fourth year thereafter,
there] A COUNTY TREASURER shall be elected by the [qualified]
voters [of Washington County a County Treasurer,] who shall hold
office for [four] 4 years from the first day of January [next
ensuing] FOLLOWING his election and until his successor in office
is duly elected and qualified[, and who].

(B)  THE TREASURER shall be removed from office by the
Governor [of the State] for incompetency, wilful neglect of duty
or misdemeanor in office, on conviction in a court of law[, but
the Treasurer elected in November, 1942, shall take office on
April 1st, 1943, and serve until December 31st, 1946; and in].

(C)   IN case of a vacancy in [said] THE office [by reason of
a removal from office as herein provided, or by reason of death,
resignation, removal from the county, disqualification or failure
to properly qualify, or in any other manner], the Governor [of
the State is hereby authorized and empowered to] SHALL fill
[such] THE vacancy as soon [thereafter] as practicable by
appointment of some person having the REQUISITE qualifications
[herein provided], who shall hold office for the remainder of
[said] THE term[,] and who shall be subject to removal for the
same causes [as are hereinbefore] set forth IN THIS SECTION. [No
one shall be elected or appointed]

(D)  THE County Treasurer [who] shall [not] be [above
twenty-five] AT LEAST 25 years [of age] OLD and [five years] a
resident of Washington County[,] AT LEAST 5 YEARS immediately
preceding the election or appointment[; and the said].

36-2A.

(A)  THE County Treasurer [shall be and] is [hereby
constituted] the Collector of all State and County taxes and
shall perform and fulfill all the duties and functions and be
subject to all the obligations, requirements, and limitations
that are [now or may hereafter be] defined, imposed, or required
by any [general] law[, special law or local law] upon the
Collector for Washington County, for the collection of State and
County taxes [and any and all].

(B)  ALL rights, remedies and actions [now prescribed or
which may be hereafter] provided for the collection of taxes by
any [general, special or local] law[, shall be] ARE available to
[said] THE County Treasurer for the purpose of enforcing payment
