The following functions, boards, commissions, bureaus,
offices and agencies shall be included within the Department of
General Services: the duties and functions previously performed
and exercised by the Department of Public Improvements; the Board
of Architectural Review; the office of the Superintendent of
Annapolis Public Buildings and Grounds; the office of the
Superintendent of Baltimore Public Buildings and Grounds; the
General Professional Services Selection Board; the Hall of
Records Commission; the War Memorial Commission; the Commission
on Artistic Property; the Purchasing Bureau, and such other
functions, agencies, commissions, boards, committees, councils or
units of government as may hereafter pursuant to law be declared
to be part of the Department of General Services. [The Department
of General Services shall not have a board of review, and § 3C of
this article shall be inapplicable to the Department of General
Services.]
REVISOR'S NOTE: Ch. ____, Acts of 1984, which enacted the
State Government Article, also amended this section to
delete the second sentence.
The former sentence, which stated that the Department
did not have a board of review and that former Art.
41, § 3C did not apply to the Department, was
unnecessary in light of the deletion of former Art.
41, § 3C in the revision of the State Government
Article. See the General Revisor's Note to Title 8,
Subtitle 2 of that Article.
Article 64A - Merit System
9V. STATE LOTTERY AGENCY.
(A) DEPUTY DIRECTORS.
A DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF THE STATE LOTTERY AGENCY SHALL BE IN
THE UNCLASSIFIED SERVICE OF THE STATE MERIT SYSTEM.
(B) OTHER STAFF.
(1) OTHER STAFF OF THE STATE LOTTERY AGENCY ARE
CLASSIFIED EMPLOYEES OF THE STATE MERIT SYSTEM.
(2) THOSE PROFESSIONAL EMPLOYEES OF ITS MARKETING
DIVISION WHO WERE SO EMPLOYED FOR AT LEAST 12 MONTHS BEFORE JULY
1, 1975 AND WHO WERE DESIGNATED BY THE DIRECTOR OF THE AGENCY,
WITH THE APPROVAL OF THE SECRETARY OF PERSONNEL, ARE CLASSIFIED
EMPLOYEES OF THE STATE MERIT SYSTEM.
