(3) BY FALSE PRETENSES, BRIBERY, OR THEFT, GAIN
ACCESS TO OR OBTAIN A COPY OF A PERSONAL RECORD WHOSE DISCLOSURE
TO THE PERSON IS PROHIBITED BY THIS PART I OF THIS SUBTITLE.

(B) PENALTIES.

A PERSON WHO VIOLATES ANY PROVISION OF THIS SECTION IS
GUILTY OF A MISDEMEANOR AND ON CONVICTION IS SUBJECT TO A FINE
NOT EXCEEDING $1,000.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from former Art. 76A, §
5(e) and the second sentence of § 3(e).

In subsection (a)(1) and (3) of this section, the
references to "this Part I of this subtitle" are
substituted for the former, apparently erroneous
cross-reference to "this article" -- i.e., former Art.
76A. Other subtitles in former Art. 76A contained
specific penalties and, therefore, seemingly were not
meant to be covered by former Art. 76A, § 5(e)(1) or
(2).

Former Art. 76A, § 5(f), which protected a custodian
from liability for disclosure under Art. 64A, § 12J of
the Code, now appears only in SG § 10-628 since Art.
64A, § 12J applies only to State personnel.
