HARRY HUGHES, Governor

1483

The reference to "Title 6 of this article" is
substituted for the former reference to "§ 6 of this
article" -- i.e., former Art. 76A, § 6 -- to reflect
the transfer of former Art. 76A, § 6 to be Title 6 of
this article, until the revision of the Local
Government Article, when the provisions of Title 6 as
to meetings can be separated from the provisions as to
records.

SUBTITLE 3. ST. MARY'S COUNTY.

RESERVED.

GENERAL REVISOR'S NOTE:

Ch. ___, Acts of 1984, which enacted the State Government

Article, transferred to this subtitle, without amendment, the St.
Mary's County Open Meetings Act.

TITLE 5. RECORDS.

SUBTITLE 1. GENERALLY APPLICABLE PROVISIONS.

PART I. ACCESS TO PUBLIC RECORDS..

5-101. DEFINITIONS.

(A) IN GENERAL.

IN THIS PART I OF THIS SUBTITLE THE FOLLOWING WORDS HAVE THE
MEANINGS INDICATED.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language derived
from former Art. 76A, § 1(a).

The reference to "this Part I of this subtitle"
which encompasses provisions derived from former Art.
76A, §§ 1 through 4 and 5 -- is substituted for the
former word "article", which would seem to include
former Art. 76A, §§ 1 through 31. This substitution
is made since the former word "article" seemed to have
been retained inadvertently when new sections were
added to former Art. 76A and former §§ 1 through 5
ceased to be the only provisions in the former
Article. See revisor's note to § 5-117 of this
subtitle.

The reference to "this Part I of this subtitle" does
not include Art. 76A, §§ 4A and 5A because they
related to only the State.

Since, however, the provisions of former Art. 76A, §§
1 through 5A that related to the State now appear in
SG §§ 10-601 and 10-611 through 10-628, definitions
similar to those in subsections (b) through (e) and
(g) of this section are repeated in SG § 10-601.
