(A)  GENERAL DISTRIBUTION.

AFTER THE HALL OF RECORDS COMMISSION PRINTS A NEW MARYLAND
MANUAL, THE SECRETARY OF STATE SHALL PROVIDE, WITHOUT CHARGE:

(1)  TO THE STATE LAW LIBRARY, 25 CLOTH-BOUND COPIES
OF THE NEW MARYLAND MANUAL;

(2)  TO EACH MEMBER OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY, 2
CLOTH-BOUND COPIES AND 8 OTHER COPIES OF THE NEW MARYLAND MANUAL;

(3)  TO EACH PUBLIC OR PRIVATE EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION
IN THE STATE, 1 COPY OF THE NEW MARYLAND MANUAL; AND

(4)  TO THE DEPARTMENT OF LEGISLATIVE REFERENCE, 50
CLOTH-BOUND COPIES OF THE NEW MARYLAND MANUAL, FOR EXCHANGE WITH
OTHER STATES.

(B)  FORMER GENERAL ASSEMBLY MEMBERS.

IF A FORMER MEMBER OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY ASKS THE HALL     OF

RECORDS COMMISSION FOR A COPY OF THE MARYLAND MANUAL,   THE

SECRETARY OF STATE SHALL PROVIDE, WITHOUT CHARGE, A COPY OF     THE
CURRENT MARYLAND MANUAL.

(C)  ADDITIONAL DISTRIBUTION.

THE SECRETARY OF STATE MAY DISTRIBUTE OTHER COPIES OF THE
MARYLAND MANUAL AS THE SECRETARY CONSIDERS NECESSARY OR
DESIRABLE.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from former Art. 40, § 88A
and former Art. 41, § 106 and, as it related to the
Secretary of State, § 104.

Subsection (a) of this section is revised to state
expressly that these copies of the manual are provided
without charge. This revision conforms to the
practice and is implicit when former Art. 41, § 106 --
from which subsection (a) of this section is derived
is read with former Art. 40, § 88A, from which
subsection (b) of this section is derived and which
provided for free copies to former members of the
General Assembly.

In subsection (a) of this section, the duty to provide
"new" copies "[a]fter the ... Commission prints" the
new manual is substituted for the former duty to
"issue every two years a manual", for clarity.

Also in subsection (a) of this section, the former
reference to "school" is deleted as unnecessary in
light of the broad reference to educational
institutions.
