LAWS OF MARYLAND

Ch. 284

In subsections (a) through (d) of this section, the
words "on or before" are substituted for the former,
ambiguous word "by".

In subsection (a)(4) of this section, the reference to
"§ 2-703 of the Agriculture Article" is substituted
for the former reference to AG § 2-719, which is the
termination provision for the Board. The substituted
reference is to the provision that creates the Board
and, thus, corresponds to the other cross-references
in this section.

In subsection (c)(15) of this section, the specific
citation to "§ 3" of Art. 75 1/2 of the Code is added
for clarity.

In subsection (c)(l6) of this section, the reference
to "§ 331" of Art. 56 is substituted for the former
incorrect cross-reference to "§ 330".

In the introductory clause of subsection (d) of this
section, the date "1993" is substituted for the
former, obsolete date "1983". The substituted date is
based on § 8-411(a) of this subtitle. Except for the
Board of Examiners of Maryland Pilots, the statutes of
each of the units listed in subsection (d) of this
section were amended, by 1983 legislation, to continue
the existence of the unit until at least 1993.

In subsection (d)(2) of this section, the
cross-reference to "Article 41, § 207A of the Code" is
substituted for the former, obsolete reference to
"Art. 89, § 51", to reflect Ch. 64, Acts of 1983.

In subsection (e) of this section, the phrase "[o]n or
before November 30" is substituted for the former
phrase "[b]efore December 1", for clarity.

Former Art. 41, § 486(c)(4), which provided for
evaluation of the Board of Electrical Examiners and
Supervisors, is deleted since the State allowed the
Board to expire in 1983, and Baltimore City amended
the public local law to make the Board a city unit.

Defined terms: "Evaluation" § 8-401
"Evaluation date" § 8-401
"Governmental activity" § 8-401

8-404. DESIGNATION BY LEGISLATIVE POLICY COMMITTEE.

(A) AUTHORIZED.

ON OR BEFORE NOVEMBER 30 OF ANY YEAR, THE LEGISLATIVE POLICY
COMMITTEE MAY DESIGNATE ANY GOVERNMENTAL ACTIVITY OR UNIT OF THE
STATE GOVERNMENT FOR EVALUATION.
