In subsection (e)(1) of this section, the reference to
a "law enforcement officer of any state" is
substituted for the former, ambiguous reference to
"police officers or officers of any other state",
which did not clearly include officers of the State
and might have included, in addition to law
enforcement officers of other states, any of the other
"officers" of those states.

SUBTITLE 1. GENERAL PROVISIONS.
3-101. POSITIONS.
THERE ARE A GOVERNOR AND A LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR OF THE STATE,
AS PROVIDED IN ARTICLE II OF THE MARYLAND CONSTITUTION.
REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language added as a
general reference to the Constitutional provisions
that relate to the Governor and the Lieutenant
Governor. See, e.g., Md. Constitution, Art. II, §§ 1,
1A, and 6.
As to the deletion of the statutory provisions for a
lieutenant governor and for a successor to the
Governor, see the General Revisor's Note to this
title.
3-102. RESERVED.
REVISOR'S NOTE: Md. Constitution, Art. II, § 21A provides
for the compensation of the Governor and the
Lieutenant Governor to be set by a joint resolution
submitted by the Governor's Salary Commission.
Although the provisions of some joint resolutions are
set out as provisions of the Code, the provisions for
compensation of the Governor and the Lieutenant
Governor are not codified. The Commission to Revise
the Annotated Code has reserved this section so that,
on adoption of a compensation resolution for the
Governor and the Lieutenant Governor, the provisions
of the resolution may be codified here.

3-201. "GOVERNOR-ELECT" DEFINED.
IN THIS SUBTITLE, "GOVERNOR-ELECT" MEANS THE INDIVIDUAL WHOM
