Dear Mr. Speaker:
In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, today I have
vetoed House Bill 1261 - Legislative Community Initiatives Loan of 2004 -
Montgomery County - Melvin J. Berman Hebrew Academy Auditorium.
This bill amends Chapter 204 of the Acts of 2003, as amended, to allow the matching
fund for the Montgomery County - Melvin J. Berman Hebrew Academy Auditorium
project to consist of funds expended prior to the effective date of the Act, but after
June 1, 1998; etc.
Senate Bill 200, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me,
accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign House
Bill 1261.

AN ACT concerning
Legislative Community Initiatives Loan of 2004 - Montgomery County -
Melvin J. Berman Hebrew Academy Auditorium
FOR the purpose of amending Chapter 204 of the Acts of 2003, as amended, to allow
the matching fund for the Montgomery County - Melvin J. Berman Hebrew
Academy Auditorium project to consist of funds expended prior to the effective
date of the Act, but after June 1, 1998; and generally relating to the financing of
certain capital projects.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Chapter 204 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 2003, as amended by
Chapter 432 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 2004
