Dear Mr. Speaker:
In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, today I have
vetoed House Bill 785 - Frederick County - Wine Consumption - Continuing Care
Retirement Communities.
This bill allows, under specified circumstances, residents and their guests in a
continuing care retirement community in Frederick County that holds a Class C
(on-sale) beer, wine and liquor license to consume wine not purchased from the
continuing care retirement community.
Senate Bill 820, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me,
accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign House
Bill 785.
Very truly yours,
Robert L. Ehrlich, Jr.
Governor
