ROBERT L. EHRLICH, JR., Governor                           H.B. 161 SECTION 2. 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect October 1, 2005.
May 26, 2005 The Honorable Michael E. Busch
Speaker of the House
State House
Annapolis, MD 21401 Dear Mr. Speaker: In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, today I have
vetoed House Bill 161 - Wicomico County - Alcoholic Beverages - Wine Tasting and
Sampling.
This bill authorizes the Liquor Control Board of Wicomico County to hold wine tasting
and sampling promotional events in county liquor dispensaries under specified
circumstances and limits the number of days during which events may be held in any
12-month period in the county to not more than 10. Senate Bill 571, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me,
accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign House
Bill 161. Very truly yours,
Robert L. Ehrlich, Jr.
Governor House Bill No. 161 AN ACT concerning Wicomico County - Alcoholic Beverages - Wine Tasting and Sampling FOR the purpose of authorizing the Liquor Control Board of Wicomico County to hold
wine tasting and sampling promotional events in the county liquor dispensaries
under certain circumstances; specifying certain limitations on the amount of
wine that may be served and the number of bottles that may be opened open at
an event; limiting the number of days during which events may be held in any
12-month period in the county; prohibiting the mixture of contents of bottles;
prohibiting events conducted using a drive-through window; and generally
relating to wine tasting and sampling events in Wicomico County. BY adding to Article 2B - Alcoholic Beverages Section 15-205(m) Annotated Code of Maryland (2001 Replacement Volume and 2004 Supplement) - 3981 -
