The Honorable Thomas V. Mike Miller, Jr.
President of the Senate
State House
Annapolis, MD 21401
Dear Mr. President:
In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, today I have
vetoed Senate Bill 922 - Garrett County - Wine Festival License - Sunday Sales.
This bill authorizes a holder of a wine festival license that is issued for use in the 11th
or 15th election district in Garrett County to sell wine on a Sunday beginning at 10
a.m. and not in conjunction with a meal.
House Bill 1407, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me,
accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate
Bill 922.
Very truly yours,
Robert L. Ehrlich, Jr.
Governor
Senate Bill No. 922
AN ACT concerning
Garrett County - Wine Festival License - Sunday Sales
FOR the purpose of authorizing a wine festival license issued for use in certain
election districts in Garrett County to allow Sunday sales to begin at a certain
time; exempting certain wine festival sales from a certain meal requirement;
and generally relating to wine festival licenses in Garrett County.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article 2B - Alcoholic Beverages
Section 8-308.1
Annotated Code of Maryland
(2001 Replacement Volume and 2004 Supplement)
