the end of December 31, 2005, with no further action required by the General
Assembly, this Act shall be abrogated and of no further force and effect.] SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 2005.
May 26, 2005 The Honorable Thomas V. Mike Miller, Jr.
President of the Senate
State House
Annapolis, MD 21401 Dear Mr. President: In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, today I have
vetoed Senate Bill 702 - Developmental Disabilities Administration - Prioritization
System for Investigations.
This bill requires the Developmental Disabilities Administration, in conjunction with
the Office of Health Care Quality, to adopt regulations establishing a prioritization
system for responding to and investigating specified incidents; and requires the
Administration to seek input from specified individuals in developing the regulations. House Bill 651, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me,
accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate
Bill 702. Very truly yours,
Robert L. Ehrlich, Jr.
Governor
