SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article - Agriculture
7-201.1.
Subject to the provisions of the Maryland Program Evaluation Act, the
provisions of this subtitle and of any rule or regulation relating to the Tobacco
Authority under this subtitle shall terminate and be of no effect after July 1, [2006]
2011.
7-202.
(a) The Authority consists of [eight] SIX members appointed by the Governor
as follows:
(1) A person familiar with the economics and marketing of tobacco in the
State to be selected from three nominees submitted by the Secretary;
(2) A person in the business of selling leaf tobacco in the State;
(3) A person in the business of buying leaf tobacco; and
