DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE
Provided that the Department of
Agriculture and the Department of
Budget and Management shall submit a
report to the budget committees by
November 1, 2005, describing policy and
program changes the State intends to
implement to support the organic farming
community and to strengthen State
programs that may benefit organic
farming. This report shall address the
recommendations contained in the April
2004 Chesapeake Fields Institute report
on organic agriculture: the feasibility
benefits, and disadvantages of
establishing organic food procurement
requirements for State agencies: and the
potential impact increased organic.

management efforts. The committees
shall have 45 days to review and comment
upon the report.
