Ch. 440 2005 LAWS OF MARYLAND
SECTION 13. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the terms of the initial
members of the Personal Assistance Services Advisory Committee shall expire as
follows:
(a) Three consumer members and two of the organizational or agency
members in 2008; and
(b) Three consumer members and three of the organizational or agency
members in 2009.
SECTION 14. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 2005.

(House Bill 1562)
AN ACT concerning
Reorganization of State Government - Historical and Cultural Programs
FOR the purpose of reorganizing State government by transferring and reassigning
the duties, responsibilities, authority, and functions of the Commission on
Indian Affairs from the Department of Housing and Community Development to
the Department of Human Resources; transferring and reassigning the duties,
responsibilities, authority, and functions of certain units and programs in the
Department of Housing and Community Development to the Department of
Planning, including the Division of Historical and Cultural Programs, the
Commission on African American History and Culture, and the Maryland
Historical Trust; specifying that the Maryland Heritage Areas Authority
operates as an independent unit in the Department of Planning; specifying that
the Secretary of Planning serves as chair of the Maryland Heritage Areas
Authority; requiring that the Maryland Historical Trust dedicate administrative
staff for the Heritage Areas Authority; specifying that certain personnel actions
by units within the jurisdiction of the Department of Planning are subject to the
approval of the Secretary of Planning; authorizing the Secretary of Planning to
take certain action regarding certain regulations and to call certain meetings;
repealing the Lighthouse Preservation Special Fund and providing for any
outstanding balance in the Fund; specifying that the Secretary of Planning
serve as chair of the Maryland Advisory Council on Historic Preservation;
providing for the continuity of certain units and the terms of certain officials;
providing for the continuity of the status of certain transactions, employees,
rights, duties, titles, interests, and other real and personal property; providing
for certain unexpended appropriations; altering a division designation;
providing for certain corrections in cross-references and terminology; adding
and altering certain definitions; and generally relating to the Department of
