CHAPTER 432
(House Bill 1329)
AN ACT concerning
Academic Facilities Bonding Authority
FOR the purpose of approving certain projects for the acquisition, development, and
improvement of certain academic facilities for the University System of
Maryland; and approving the issuance of bonds by the University System of
Maryland for financing the projects.
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That:
(1) In accordance with Title 19 of the Education Article of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (2004 Replacement Volume and 2004 Supplement), each of the following
projects is approved as a project for an academic facility, and the University System of
Maryland may issue, sell, and deliver bonds in the total principal amount of
$13,125,000 for the purposes of financing and refinancing the costs of these projects:
(A) University of Maryland, Baltimore (Baltimore City)
(i) Construct Dental School Building
(B) University System of Maryland (Montgomery County)
(i) Construct Shady Grove Educational Center III;
(2) In accordance with Title 19 of the Education Article of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (2004 Replacement Volume and 2004 Supplement), each of the following
capital facilities renewal projects is hereby approved as a project for an academic
facility, and the University System of Maryland may issue, sell, and deliver bonds in
the total principal amount of $11,875,000 for the purposes of financing and
refinancing the costs of these capital facilities renewal projects:
(A) University of Maryland, Baltimore (Baltimore City)
(i) Facade and Window Upgrade; Medical School Teaching Facility,
