ROBERT L. EHRLICH, JR., Governor                             Ch. 430 13-103. (a) (1) Except as otherwise provided in this section or elsewhere in the
Maryland Vehicle Law, each motor vehicle, trailer, semitrailer, and pole trailer driven
on a highway shall be registered under this subtitle.
(c) Registration under this subtitle is not required for: (3) A farm tractor or any farm equipment; 16-102. (a) The licensing requirements of this title do not apply to: (3) An individual while driving any road machine, farm tractor, or farm
equipment temporarily driven on a highway in this State, or dock equipment at
Dundalk or Locust Point marine terminals which does not require registration under
the provisions of this article;
17-102. This subtitle does not apply to the following vehicles and their drivers: (1) Farm equipment or special mobile equipment incidentally operated
on a highway or on other property open to the public; or
(2) A vehicle operated on a highway only to cross the highway from one
property to another.
13-935. (a)     In this section, "farm area motor vehicle" means a motor vehicle owned by
a farmer and operated only on a farm or on a highway within a 10-mile radius of the
farm. (b)     If registered with the Administration under this section, every farm area
motor vehicle AND EVERY VEHICLE THAT MEETS THE REQUIREMENTS OF
SUBSECTION (D)(1) OF THIS SECTION is a Class K (farm area) vehicle. (c)      [For] EXCEPT AS PROVIDED IN SUBSECTION (D) OF THIS SECTION. FOR
each Class K (farm area) vehicle, the annual registration fee is $2.50. (D) (1) THE ADMINISTRATION MAY ISSUE A TEMPORARY REGISTRATION
UNDER THIS SECTION TO A VEHICLE THAT: (I)      IS OWNED BY A RESIDENT OF ANOTHER STATE, OR A COMPANY
OPERATING OUT OF ANOTHER STATE, IF THE INDIVIDUAL OR COMPANY IS UNDER
CONTRACT WITH A MARYLAND FARMER TO CONDUCT SEASONAL HARVESTING
OPERATIONS IN THIS STATE; (II)     IS USED TO TRANSPORT PERISHABLE COMMODITIES DIRECTLY
BETWEEN A FARM AND A PACKING PLANT FOR SORTING AND PROCESSING: (III)    PASSES A LEVEL 1 SAFETY INSPECTION CONDUCTED BY THE
DEPARTMENT OF STATE POLICE; AND - 1993 -
