SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 2005.

(House Bill 1461)
AN ACT concerning
Baltimore City - Orphans' Court Judges - Salary Increases
FOR the purpose of increasing to a certain amount the annual salaries of the
associate judges and the Chief Judge of the Orphans' Court for Baltimore City;
providing that this Act does not apply to the salaries or compensation of the
incumbent associate judges and the Chief Judge of the Orphans' Court for
Baltimore City; and generally relating to the annual salaries of the associate
judges and the Chief Judge of the Orphans' Court for Baltimore City.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article - Estates and Trusts
Section 2-108(d)(l)(i)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article - Estates and Trusts
2-108.
(d) (1) (i) Each associate judge of the Court of Baltimore City shall receive
an annual compensation of [$55,000] $62,500, and the Chief Judge shall receive an
annual compensation of [$65,000] $72,500.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, pursuant to Article III,
§ 35 of the Maryland Constitution, this Act may not be construed to extend or apply to
the salary or compensation of the associate judges and the Chief Judge of the
Orphans' Court for Baltimore City in office on the effective date of this Act, but the
provisions of this Act concerning the salary or compensation of the associate judges
